A few weeks ago, Kanye West cryptically tweeted a date — and his nine million Twitter followers snapped to attention. Kanye’s last solo release, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, was 2010’s best-reviewed album, and fans are eager for a true follow-up, which West is finally ready to deliver. The album, reportedly titled Yeezus, is rumored to feature collaborations with Daft Punk, Skrillex, Odd Future and John Legend, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
As for the songs, West debuted the tracks, “New Slaves” and “Black Skinhead,” on the May 18 episode of Saturday Night Live, giving the audience a glimpse of the dark, political and undoubtedly controversial material they can expect on the rapper’s forthcoming LP.
