British actress Julie Andrews as Cinderella performs in front of a television camera in a scene from the CBS Television presentation of Cinderella in New York City on March 22, 1957.
Opens Feb. 21
What do you know — a new Rodgers & Hammerstein musical. Well, new to Broadway anyway. The legendary composing team wrote this show for television in 1957. Now, with a new book by Douglas Carter Beane, it is making its belated Broadway debut. The fairy-tale heroine will be played by Laura Osnes — who won a TV talent contest to star in the 2007 revival of Grease, but has since proven to be more than just a reality-show creation.
