Daring indie director Andrea Arnold shakes up Emily Brontë’s classic with handheld camera, moody atmospherics and a cast that includes a black newcomer (James Howson) as Heathcliff and the barely known Kaya Scodelario as Cathy. Keep in mind Arnold cast Michael Fassbender in Fish Tank before the rest of us had a clue.
