Though it’s the kind of publicity you’d never wish for, the devastating drought in the U.S. this summer has made Ken Burns’ latest historical film especially timely. The documentarian interviews survivors of what he calls the greatest man-made environmental disaster in the country’s history. This film, coupled with recent headlines, makes the 1930s’ hell on earth all too believable.
