The fabric paintings in this collection seem a little more somber, like the girl in a flowered dress.
That represents grounding yourself. The flowers are growing up through the dress.
How is the recent collection different from your previous ones?
I’m not giving up my humor at all, but I’m in this mode where I want to explore the more serious, ethereal work. And I didn’t even really know I was doing it until I pulled back and looked at it … I hope that with the new collection it’s received with the same intent that I offer it, an overriding sense of grace. That sounds a little haughty, but I don’t know how else to say it.
