Why do animals feature so prominently in your work?
That unconditional-love thing—I mean, where else do you find that? One of the purest things we can find being alive is that love from an animal. I just think it’s powerful.
Do you have pets?
I have an English bulldog, Carlos. Then I have two cats, Hambone and T-Bone.
