Yes, we realize that ‘Feliz Navidad’ is the only popular Christmas song that English-speaking Americans know how to sing in Spanish. But the Spanish part has only six words: “Feliz Navidad” repeated excessively, followed by “Próspero año y felicidad.” That’s it. And the second verse is in English! This song is basically the holiday equivalent of Spanglish. Whenever we hear it drifting over department-store speakers, it gets stuck in our heads for at least a week.
