This sweet Christmas love song, wherein Mariah Carey professes not to care about presents as long as she spends the holiday with her lover, has been ruined. Ruined by the 2003 movie Love Actually and every radio station and mall in the U.S. Even Mariah, who frolics in a Santa dress in the snow with two little white bunnies, couldn’t save it. She even tried tackling Santa in the snow. But alas, the sheer ubiquity of this song — named No. 1 on Billboard’s list of the 100 most popular seasonal songs — has driven the catchy, up-tempo number into our beanie-hatted skulls. The new Justin Bieber/Carey duet version doesn’t help. As much as we loved this song once, now all we want for Christmas is to never hear it again.
