If George Lucas created the characters that inhabit the SW universe, then John Williams fully brought them to life. It’s impossible to think of Darth Vader and not hear the ominous horns and crashing tympani of Williams’ “Imperial March”. Williams clearly understand the themes of the Star Wars universe—and his continued involvement would be a wonderful link between films old and new.
