Lou Ferrigno is and will always be synonymous with the Hulk. The ex-bodybuilder would be a natural fit to play any superhero of monstrous proportions—green or otherwise—but it’s as much his innately hulky voice as his physical stature that made him such a great fit as the green giant. He beat out both actor Richard Kiel and Arnold Schwarzenegger—who was rejected for his inadequate height—for the role. Seasoned television actor Bill Bixby played his alter ego, Dr. David Banner.
