Oh Bruno Mars, why tamper with a successful formula? For some reason, presumably only known to him, he turned every element of what made “Just the Way You Are” so successful — the somewhat stripped back vocals, and lush arrangements — into a God forsaken, jazz version that made Mars look and sound like a third-rate Las Vegas lounge act. Any teenage girl watching at home was likely aghast that she fell for the track in the first place. Mars seemed to think he did a fine job with his signature song but he’s wrong: in fact, the whole thing was so misjudged that he may never be invited back again.
