
The follow-up to the former Beatle and Yoko Ono’s Grammy-winning Double Fantasy, Milk and Honey was recorded just months before Lennon was shot outside his New York City home in December 1980. The album was slated for release the following year, but after her husband’s death, it took Yoko four years to finish the work. The album, whose title is a reference to the duo’s complementary backgrounds, peaked at No. 3 in the U.K. and No. 11 in the U.S.
