In Michael J. Fox’s last leading role before his semi-retirement due to Parkinson’s disease, the actor plays Frank Bannister, an architect who, following an accident in which his wife is killed, waves goodbye to his career and becomes a ghost communicator full-time. He befriends a few of the ghouls and persuades them to haunt neighborhood homes in order to drum up customers for his newfound exorcism business. But everything goes downhill once the exorcist fun turns murderous in this 1996 film, Peter Jackson’s final directing job before the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
