Odd Couples: 10 Weird Christmas Duets

The Internet let out a collective gasp when Mariah Carey announced she was teaming up with Justin Bieber for a retooled version of her holiday classic, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” The “Superfestive” version of the song isn’t radically different form her 1994 hit, save for some extra orchestration and vocal ad-libs by pop prince Bieber. In the music video, Carey, dressed as a sexy Santa (what else?), cavorts in a Macy’s after hours with a 17-year-old Bieber. The clip serves as a commercial for the department store (both singers sell products through the chain) and the dangers of re-recording a song that really doesn’t need to be remade. Unless, of course, we’re talking about Carey’s recent a cappella turn with Jimmy Fallon, the Roots and some seriously adorable kids.
