This pairing might seem odd to young fans who are used to watching the Muppets hobnob with celebrities like Katy Perry and Jason Segel, but John Denver often collaborated with the Muppets. In fact, Denver was a friend of Jim Henson and appeared with Kermit and friends in two TV specials. This lively take on the Beach Boys’ “Little Saint Nick” comes from the 1979 TV special and album, “John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together.” And if we’re getting technical, the duet is between Denver and Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, also known as The Muppet Show’s house band. Bonus points if you can catch Animal shouting “RUN, RUN REINDEER” during the chorus.
