Start holding your breath; X-Men Apocalypse will arrive on May 27, 2016. It will be the eighth X-Men film.
The next and seventh installment in the superhero movie franchise based on the Marvel Comics of the same name, X-Men: Days of Future Past, is slated for May of next year, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The franchise kicked off in 2000 with the original X-Men film and is currently the 15th largest-grossing movie series in history, with over $2 billion in revenues worldwide. It is based on the original comics about a team of mutant superheroes, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, which debuted in 1963.
