Known as a gifted lyricist, Nitty Scott is vehemently not a rapper, but a freestyle emcee. Her sound harks back to the golden age of hip hop when Wu Tang Clan and Tribe Called Quest ruled the airways. Her vocal style and easy breezy flow draw comparisons to MC Lyte, Aaliyah and Lauryn Hill. Her debut EP, The Boombox Diaries Vol. 1., came out in August, filled with Scott’s sweet voice, incisive lyrics and hot beats with guest appearances by the likes of Kendrick Lamar, The Kid Daytona and Action Bronson.
