And just when we thought Marvel couldn’t possibly come up with another way to make loads of cash off the already created The Avengers, we’re reminded that there’s still more film footage to show us from the entire “phase one” of the Avengers franchise. And the brand-new trailer shows viewers why they love the Marvel-created characters together on the big screen.
Marvel Cinematic Universe has already announced pre-orders of a six-movie, 10-disc Blu-ray box set Phase One – Avengers Assembled to release on Sept. 25, but now the company has a trailer to go with it, including interviews with famed actors.
(Q&A: Chris Hemsworth: Snow White, Joss Whedon and Thor 2)
Included in the box set is Marvel’s The Avengers, Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor in both regular Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D, and Blu-ray versions of Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man. There will also be a Blu-ray disc titled “The Phase One Archives.” Along with the discs, purchasers of this $153 to $196 set (depending if you shop on Amazon or on the official site) get “collectible packaging and memorabilia.”
The Amazon site promises an update on July 15, which coincides with the San Diego Comic-Con and could simply be the look of the box set, according to Slashfilm. No matter the reveal or the mysterious memorabilia, Marvel’s banking on any new piece of Avenger-related information to excite fans as they wait for more actual films.
