NBC’s plan to bring The Jay Leno Show back into late-night from its lackluster prime-time slot pushed Conan O’Brien out of The Tonight Show. Team Coco was born, and O’Brien took his $33 million payout to walk away. The comedian negotiated another $12 million for his staff (about 200 people) to split.
