This week’s comments were so comment-y that we couldn’t resist singling out the cream of the crop. We learned a lot from our readers this week—about art, history, religion and how to see the world in the best possible light—and we hope that you do too.

For example:

On our look at the new Twilight trailer, KevinB1979 came up with a profound analysis of the cinema of our time:

They seem to like fighting pitch battles in open fields and running at each other in the movies.

And charliromeobravo noticed something while reading James Poniewozik’s story about the new Bristol Palin reality show:

“Bristol’s second reality show, after Dancing with the Stars, or third, if you count Sarah Palin’s Alaska…”

…or fourth if you count the way the kids were treated during campaign.

Commenting on our excerpt of the new TIME Paul McCartney book, on the occasion of McCartney’s 70th birthday, rockshow didn’t shy away from superlatives:

The day Paul McCartney met John Lennon = Without a doubt, the most important day in music history.

This comment from sean1966’s take on James Poniewozik’s piece about Ann Curry’s troubles at Today reminds us that a simple solution is often the best:

NBC, please replace her with Lena Headey. And whenever anyone makes a stupid remark, Lena shoots them with her ‘Terminator’ shotgun. Up go the ratings! Problem solved.

Finally, majnun99, commenting on Jeremy Larson’s review of the new Fiona Apple album, may have just been talking about music, but gave us a nice little dose of optimism:

Awesome. Looking forward to tomorrow

And it being Friday, that last comment also wins the award for the most true (in this context at least).
