OCCUPATION(S): Crime-scene cleaners
ABOUT THE SHOW: A scene from Pulp Fiction, in which a character called the Wolf (played by Harvey Keitel) “sanitizes” a murder scene with ruthless and detached efficiency, inspired 25-year-old Neal Smither to start his own company. Sixteen years later, his Crime Scene Cleanup (an impressively literal name, that) is the company that usually gets the call when police investigators in California’s Bay Area are done with their work at the aftermath of a violent crime or deadly accident.
TYPICAL MOMENT: While cleaning a garage in which a suicide had recently been committed, tensions rise between a veteran employee and a new hire.
