This may be Best Actor nominee Matthew McConaughey’s year.
The 44-year-old actor is up for his first Academy Award after two decades of box-office success in movies ranging from 1993’s stoner romp Dazed and Confused, rom-coms like Failure to Launch (2006), to last year’s Oscar-favorites Dallas Buyers Club and The Wolf of Wall Street.
He’s also got his own clothing line, a non-profit foundation that urges high-school kids to lead active, healthy lives, works as an advocate for animals and makes high-profile celebrity endorsements for brands like Dolce & Gabanna.
Ever confident, McConaughey says his career is just warming up: “I’m still on the approach.”
