In a clip from Monday’s episode of Conan, legendary director Martin Scorsese discussed how, exactly, he ensured one drug sequence from his recent film The Wolf of Wall StreetĀ felt true-to-life.
Scorcese revealed that he drew upon his own experiences of taking Quaaludes, a no-longer-legal prescription drug, to add an extra level of realism when directing Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill in a scene that featured the two actors flying from New York to Switzerland under the influence.
Wolf of Wall Street is nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.
