Musicians Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are teaming up once again, this time to score David Fincher’s movie adaptation of Gone Girl. Not only has the duo worked on several of Reznor’s Nine Inch Nails’ albums in the past, but they’ve also both collaborated on Fincher’s films before: In 2010 the scored The Social Network and in 2011 they tackled the remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. They even snagged an Oscar for The Social Network‘s score.
Reznor announced the news Tuesday on Twitter:
Now known for their dark, moody music, Reznor and Ross seem like the perfect pair to score the movie version of Gillian Flynn’s best-selling thriller about a marriage gone horribly wrong. Though the book has already been read by millions of fans, the film adaptation—which stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike—will have new surprise ending, penned by Flynn herself. The film will hit theaters on Oct. 3.
