Country singer Trace Adkins has entered a rehab facility after relapsing to alcoholism. Adkins had been sober for 12 years since his first stint in rehab back in 2002, the New York Daily News reports.
The 52-year-old singer was one of the stars performing on the seven-day “Country Cruise,” which left Miami on Jan. 12. Adkins’ representative confirmed that the country star went to rehab on Wednesday.
“Trace has entered a treatment facility after a setback in his battle with alcoholism,” his representative told the Daily News. “As he faces these issues head on, we ask that his family’s privacy will be respected.”
Adkins was a finalist on Donald Trump’s NBC reality series Celebrity Apprentice in 2008 and won the All-Star version of the show in 2013. The singer has sold 10 million albums since he started his career in the mid-1990s.
