Sam Worthington and girlfriend Lara Bingle
Actor Sam Worthington, 37, star of the hit movie Avatar, was arrested in New York City on Sunday for punching a photographer after the photographer reportedly kicked Worthington’s girlfriend Lara Bingle.
Worthing is charged with assault for the altercation, which took place in Greenwich Village on Sunday evening. The photographer, paparazzo Sheng Li, was reportedly physical with Bingle, pushing and kicking her in the shin, according to People. Worthington then swung a punch at Li.
Li, 37, was also arrested for reckless endangerment, assault and harassment.
Li is currently waiting arraignment, and Worthington was released. He is due back in court on Feb. 26.
