That name should have been a giveaway to unfortunate visitors to the remote Mexican roadhouse/strip club featured in 1996’s From Dusk Till Dawn. Salma Hayek wasn’t yet a big star outside her native Mexico (despite her stunning stateside debut in From Dusk director Robert Rodriguez’s Desperado the year before), but her dance with a python wrapped around her made her a star north of the border, as well as a vampire-movie icon. Bonus points to Hayek’s Satanico for draining a loathsome Quentin Tarantino to death before being dispatched herself.
