“A voice of a generation” and avid Twitter user Lena Dunham visited Twitter Headquarters in San Francisco on Friday and received a warm reception, which culminated in a signal red rose presented to the Girls creator. Dunham sat down with Twitter’s consumer communications manager Elaine Filadelfo to chat about her thoughts on social media in front of a crowd of Twitter employees.
Twitter was just one of many stops on her tour of San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Dunham also visited Facebook and Instagram this week. Dunham used Instagram to reveal the jacket for her upcoming book, Not that Kind of Girl, due out October 7, earlier this week.
The Girls creator and star boasts a devoted 1.4 million Twitter followers and apparently has quite a few fans inside the Twitter offices too. Several (unsurprisingly) live tweeted the event. The staff even offered her a rose for Valentine’s Day.
