John Oliver’s show now has a premiere date: HBO announced Wednesday that Last Week Tonight with John Oliver debuts April 27.

The breakout star of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart will take a satirical look at the week’s news and politics each Sunday on the new show. Oliver proved his comedic chops last summer when he covered for Jon Stewart on the The Daily Show while Stewart directed a film, earning raves from critics and maintaining the show’s ratings in the longtime host’s absence.

Oliver will likely carry over many fans he earned during his seven years on The Daily Show to his new gig at HBO, but — luckily for Stewart — Last Week Tonight won’t compete for viewers with The Daily Show or its 11:30pm counterpart The Colbert Report, since they both air on Comedy Central only on weekdays.
