Last night, Adult Swim aired the fourth installment in Adam Scott’s Greatest Event in Television History series.

In his three earlier attempts at making the titular “greatest event in television history,” Scott had tackled recreating the opening credits of Simon & Simon, Hart to Hart and Too Close for Comfort. For the final installment of the series, he went big, opting for a frame-by-frame recreation of the opening credits sequence from the classic ’80s sitcom Bosom Buddies.

The show starred Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari as a pair of 20-something men desperate to score cheap rent, which apparently was only available at a an all-women’s apartment building. Their solution? To disguise themselves as ladies.

To re-create the credits, Scott conscripted Paul Rudd to play the Scolari role, along with Community’s Gillian Jacobs, Saturday Night Live cast member Aidy Bryant, Parks and Rec writer Aisha Muharrar, and Mo Collins as a perfect replica of Holland Taylor. Survivor emcee Jeff Probst hosts the mockumentary that gives a behind-the-scenes peek into the making-of the credits. Keep an eye out for Billy Joel, who is only a little irked when Rudd and Scott ask him to imitate his own sound-alike who sang the original version of “My Life” in the show’s opener.

Watch the re-creation (above) and then check out the original (below). If that wasn’t the greatest event in television history, it was close.
