The E! Entertainment network has offered an apology to actor Michael J. Fox after describing his Parkinson’s Disease as a “Fun Fact” during Sunday night’s Golden Globes coverage.

During the red carpet arrivals, the E! network flashed a graphic during their online webcast detailing that the actor was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 1991 — accompanied by the heading “Fun Fact.” Gawker captured the “fun fact” on Twitter:

E! said it regretted the insensitive display. “We understand the serious nature of the disease and sincerely apologize,” the network said in a statement.

Fox was nominated Sunday for his lead role in his eponymous “The Michael J. Fox Show.”
