The stage adaptation of Mark Haddon’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is heading to Broadway this fall. The play, which has already had a successful run in London’s West End, will appear stateside at the Barrymore Theater.

The play is based on the bestselling novel, telling the story of teenager Christopher, a math genius with social difficulties, who discovers his neighbor’s murdered dog one night and attempts to uncover what happened. The play, which first premiered in London in August, 2012, won seven Olivier Awards last year, including Best New Play, Best Director for Marianne Elliott and Best Actor for Luke Treadaway as Christopher.

The New York Times reports that the Broadway production will also be directed by Elliott, but will feature a new, American cast.

The London production of Curious¬†was temporarily halted on Dec. 19 when the Apollo Theater’s roof partially collapsed during an evening performance, injuring several dozen attendees. The play will re-open at London’s Gielgud Theatre on June 24th.
