After the success of racy shows like Game of Thrones, Girls and Sex and the City, it seemed like it was only a matter of time before HBO took on a porn-themed series. We’re just surprised that it’s actually taken this long for it to happen.
Variety reports the channel is now working on a remake of the French comedy Hard, which starred French actress Natacha Lindinger and premiered in 2008. The American version is described as a dark comedy that “revolves around a Brentwood housewife who inherits her husband’s failing porn company. She’s challenged to manage a business and her dueling lives, which she shares with her coffee-clatch friends.”
HBO’s Hard is being produced by the former Sex and the City writer and producer Jenny Bicks, who’s also known for her work on The Big C and Men in Trees. Bicks will be working along with producer Stephen McPherson, who optioned the rights to the series. So far, there’s no word on potential casting.
