Jack White has revealed that he’s working on a new album, and it could be out this year. Rolling Stone reports that the prolific performer and producer divulged the news on his label’s message board during a conversation with fans. “I’m producing two albums this month, and finishing them,” White wrote, before adding, “one of them is mine.”
The new mystery album sounds as if it could be a follow-up to White’s 2012 solo album Blunderbuss, which was a critical and commercial success. Last year, the former White Stripes frontman told Rolling Stone that he had about two-dozen songs written for a new album. But a solo album isn’t the only project White has been working on recently. His group Dead Weather had previously announced a new record, to be released in 2015, and White has also been recording new material with his other group, the Raconteurs, since last spring. Looks like it’s been a busy few months for White, and with all that new material, it’s likely only going to get busier.
