Universal has decided that Paul Walker’s character will retire rather than get killed off in Fast and Furious 7, according to a report.
Citing unnamed sources, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that new scenes will be added to address Walker’s retirement and allow the franchise to continue without him.
Walker died in a tragic car accident in December. Since filming on the latest Fast and Furious sequel had not yet been completed, fans and producers speculated how Walker’s absence would be addressed in a way that would satisfy mourning fans and cast members. The movie’s release was pushed from July 2014 to April 2015.
Universal declined to comment.
