Singer Ian Watkins has received a 35-year sentence for a string of child sex offenses, including the attempted rape of a baby. The 36-year-old former Lostprophets front-man has been sentenced to 29 years in jail, withan  additional six years “on licence,” meaning he’ll be released into the community but required to adhere to certain conditions. Watkins will have to serve at least two-thirds of his prison term before he can be considered for release.

After months of denying accusations of pedophilia, the Welsh rock singer pleaded guilty in November to 13 charges over five years, including the attempted rape of one baby and conspiring to rape another. Sentencing took place Wednesday. Watkins’ co-defendants were sentenced to 14 and 17 years.

“Today’s sentence does not mark the end of our investigations and we will work tirelessly to identify any other victims or witnesses and seek the justice they deserve,” Detective Chief Inspector Peter Doyle told the BBC. “In the last few weeks we have received further information that will now be looked at by the investigation team.”
