While Netflix original series have traditionally been released all at once — allowing for epic binge-watching sessions — its new endeavor is breaking from that model.

Netflix has teamed up with DreamWorks Animation to create Turbo Fast, a children’s series about racing snails from the movie Turbo, that will begin an incremental release on Christmas Eve, Variety reports. Five episodes will be released on Dec. 24, and the rest will air throughout 2014. That means kids won’t be able to finish the entire series in one long, unproductive weekend like their parents did with House of Cards.

“With new episodes on their way in the coming months, kids will have something to look forward to all year,” Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said.
