The new trailer for The Raid 2: Retaliation may be brief, but it certainly is punchy.
In a little over a minute, the trailer all but guarantees the sequel to the critically lauded The Raid: Redemption will be just as intense and violent as the first film. The sequel takes place just hours after the first film ends, Deadline reports, and Indonesian actor and martial artist Iko Uwais is back as the tough-as-nails cop Rama.
After The Raid became a sort of festival darling for action fans at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2011 and Sundance in 2012, writer-director Gareth Evans was able to broker a deal for a second film — and a bigger budget (Evans has said he intends to make a third installment as well). So prepare yourself for more kicks, jabs and punches than you know what to do with.
The Raid 2 is slated to open in American theaters in March 2014.
