Legendary rock act Fleetwood Mac announced that they are canceling their 14-day tour through Australia and New Zealand that was set to kick off in November to allow the band’s bassist and founding member John McVie to commence cancer treatment after a recent diagnosis.

According to an AP report, fellow band mates Lindsay Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks called on fans across the globe to “join us in wishing John and his family all the best.”

McVie’s muscular bass playing and at times story relationship with former band member and ex-wife Christine McVie are the stuff of rock lore.
