Our long wait is over: Britney Spears has finally announced the title of her forthcoming album.

“It’s called Britney Jean!” Spears announced today on London’s 95-106 Capital FM. “It’s a personal album and all my family they always call me Britney Jean. It’s like a term of endearment, and I just wanted to share that with my fans.”

The album’s first single, “Work B**ch,” is currently No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Britney Jean‘s producer (and sometimes Black Eyed Pea) will.i.am, who has worked with Justin Timberlake, John Legend, Nas and Usher, is impressed with his work. “This Britney record is like a piece of me, no pun intended!” he told the Associated Press (referring to Spears’ 2007 single, “Piece of Me”) adding,  “It’s really fresh.”

While will.i.am also produced the Miley Cyrus song, “Do My Thang,” off of Cyrus’ album Bangerz, neither he or Britney have confirmed or denied whether Britney Jean will feature a collaboration with the “Wrecking Ball” singer. “You’ll have to wait and see,” Spears said, when asked about any other guest appearances on the album.

Britney Jean is due in stores on December 3rd, just two weeks before Spears kicks off her two-year residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, where she will perform hits from her back catalogue and new album.
