Actors Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny attend "The Truth Is Here: David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson on The X-Files" at The Paley Center for Media on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 in New York.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson said Saturday they are interested in making another X-Files movie, opening the door to an expansion on the franchise that has already produced more than 200 television episodes and 2 movies.

The actors, who played FBI agents in the paranormal investigative series that aired for 9 seasons, spoke at an event in New York City marking the 20th anniversary of its premiere.

“All the principals are on board,” including X-Files creator Chris Carter, Duchovny said, the Associated Press reports. “Gillian and I want to do it, so it’s really up to Twentieth Century Fox at this point.”

Twentieth Century Fox did not respond to the AP’s inquiries.
