More than 150 stone-faced (and stone-bodied) competitors lined the streets of Arnhem on September 29 for the 9th annual World Statues Festival.

The event — held each year in the Netherlands city — is the unofficial world championship for “living statues,” those street performers who dress up, paint their face and stand along the sidewalks of major cities like Hollywood and Barcelona hoping for a bit of spare change from tourists.
