Even with all the brouhaha over the Breaking Bad finale, Homeland still managed to get record ratings for its season-three premiere Sunday night.

Almost 2 million viewers tuned in to Showtime’s CIA drama, a 9 percent increase from the season-two premiere, according to the Los Angeles Times. That makes Sunday night’s episode Homeland’s most-watched premiere yet.

The ratings are a display of fan loyalty after a second season that was generally considered lackluster compared to the first.

Breaking Bad was still the beast of cable Sunday night with 10 million viewers. The premiere of Masters of Sex had about one million viewers.
