It had all the makings of a Hollywood blockbuster: the money, the heist and… the maple syrup?

Sony Pictures will make a film, starring actor Jason Segel, based on Canada’s Great Maple Syrup Caper, Deadline reports.┬áSony Pictures confirmed the new movie to TIME on Thursday.

In that famous caper, between 2011 and 2012, a maple syrup cartel siphoned off 6 million gallons, or about $18 million, of the sugary liquid in Quebec.

Seth Gordon will direct the comedic film, and Family Guy’s Chris Sheridan is expected to write the script.
