The mother of Tupac Shakur is suing for $1.1 million in unpaid royalties from sale of the late rapper’s posthumous album, TMZ reports.
Afeni Shakur, who administers Tupac’s estate, has filed a lawsuit against Entertainment One, which bought the rights to Tupac’s music after Death Row Records, the label that previously owned the rights, went belly up in 2006. Shakur alleges the company failed to pay royalties from the sale the 2007 release “Beginnings: The Lost Tapes.” She is also demanding all master recordings of her son’s unreleased music. TMZ could not reach Entertainment One for comment.
Shakur was killed in a 1996 drive-by-shooting.
