The first Emmy Award given out at this evening’s ceremony — Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series — went to Merritt Wever for her role on Showtime’s Nurse Jackie.
Her win was a surprise (the category contained favorites like 30 Rock’s Jane Krakowski and Big Bang Theory’s Mayim Bialik), but not as much of a surprise as her acceptance speech.
And, in the spirit of her words, we’ll leave it at that.
