Cher wasn’t a big fan of Miley Cyrus’ controversial MTV VMA performance. She offered the singer some advice on future performances. “I don’t give a **** if she comes out naked,” Cher told a reporter at E! “Just be better, do better.”
However, Cher—who’s promoting her own new album, Closer to the Truth, out in September—gives Miley credit for drawing attention to her music. “Maybe she’s thrilled and delighted—everyone’s talking about it,” Cher said. “And so, that’s almost as good as it being great, you know. Especially kind of in this day and age. It doesn’t make any difference if you’re good. It just makes a difference if people are asking about it.”
