While one New York City hotel worker may mistake Jase Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame for a homeless man, there were 11.8 million viewers this week alone that could pick his beard out of a crowd.
The cast of a Louisiana bayou backcountry family has taken over cable television, premiering its fourth season on A&E on Wednesday as the No. 1 non-fiction series telecast in cable history.
The 10 p.m. Eastern show every Wednesday chronicles the lives of the Robertson family, which made its name in the duck-hunting world by creating the ever-popular Duck Commander duck call.

But not everyone knows the Louisiana family by its ever-growing beards. While in New York this week promoting the fourth season of the show, Jase Robertson, one of the clan’s brothers, was kicked out of a hotel, apparently mistaken for a homeless man.
Robertson told Live! With Kelly and Michael he was a victim of “facial profiling.”
“I asked where the bathroom was and he said, ‘Right this way, sir.’ He was very nice,” Robertson told the show, “he walked me outside, pointed down the road and said, ‘Good luck.’”
When his wife asked what happened, Robertson realized he’d just been kicked out of the hotel. He didn’t let it ruffle his feathers (or beard), though, and remained at the hotel. He must figure nearly 12 million people know who he is. Maybe the New York City anonymity was a nice change for one of the most popular Louisianans in television history.
