Diana Paulus’s circus-themed revival of Pippin is a lot of fun, but the dazzling acrobatics can’t quite disguise the thinness of the 1972 Bob Fosse-Stephen Schwartz musical. The show may have deserved its award for Best Musical Revival, but Andrea Martin’s award Best Featured Actress should have been in the Best Trapeze Act category, and Patina Miller’s win as Best Actress glaringly passed over the hard-working Laura Osnes and her charming work in Cinderella.
