While that South African alien-thriller-slash-social-metaphor took place on an invaded Earth, this one bypasses the planet for a fancy-pants space station (Elysium, natch) on which a privileged few float high above the mess we’ve made of our world. Only losers live on Earth…well, at least until Matt Damon gets involved.

If the trailer’s not enough for you, check out the movie’s bells-and-whistles-filled tie-in website, Armadyne.net, the Prometheus-style homepage of the company that makes these fancy space stations.
Elysium also stars Jodie Foster and District 9‘s Sharlto Copley. It opens Aug. 9, 2013.
